AI, Semiconductors and Quantum Computing Will Shape the Future, Says Maharashtra CM

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and quantum computing will be the three defining technologies of the 21st century, urging India's education system to prepare students for this technological transformation. Speaking at the inauguration of the AI Centre of Competency powered by Nvidia at Ramdeobaba University in Nagpur, Fadnavis emphasized that universities must align their curricula with rapidly changing industry demands and focus on creating highly skilled, employable talent rather than simply producing graduates.

Fadnavis stressed that the future workforce will require expertise in emerging technologies that are reshaping industries worldwide. He said educational institutions should anticipate changes in the job market and equip students with practical, cutting-edge skills in AI, semiconductor design, and quantum technologies. According to him, India has a unique opportunity to become a global technology leader if academia, industry, and government collaborate to build a strong innovation ecosystem and develop world-class human capital.

The launch of the AI Centre of Competency is intended to support that vision by providing students, researchers, and startups with access to advanced AI infrastructure, training, and industry collaboration. Powered by Nvidia technology, the center aims to promote research, innovation, and hands-on learning in artificial intelligence while helping bridge the gap between academic education and real-world industry requirements. Such initiatives are expected to strengthen Maharashtra's position as an emerging hub for AI research and digital innovation.

The Chief Minister's remarks reflect a broader global trend in which AI, advanced chip manufacturing, and quantum computing are increasingly viewed as strategic technologies with far-reaching economic and national security implications.
