AI Spending in India to Grow 2.2x Faster, Generating $115 Billion Economic Impact by 2027

India is poised to witness a significant surge in AI spending, with investments expected to grow 2.2 times faster than overall digital technology spending in the next three years. This rapid growth will generate an economic impact of over $115 billion by the end of 2027, according to a report by International Data Corporation (IDC).

By 2027, company executives anticipate that their GenAI projects will achieve a success rate of at least 70%, driving operational effectiveness and generating new revenue streams. The IDC report also highlights that 40% of IT leaders will emerge as business leaders by 2027, aligning people, operations, and business models with digital technologies.

Moreover, organizations with an integrated digital business architecture are expected to increase the value generated from their data by three times and reduce time to outcomes by 20% by 2027. However, the report also notes that 55% of India-based organizations will face digital skills shortages, leading to project delays and slower AI technology implementations.
