According to SAP, modern customers no longer judge companies only by marketing or support interactions — they judge whether businesses can actually deliver accurate pricing, inventory visibility, fulfillment, and fast issue resolution in real time.
The company says agentic AI systems are increasingly being embedded into marketing, commerce, sales, and service workflows rather than operating as standalone chatbots or recommendation tools. SAP showcased new AI assistants capable of handling tasks such as campaign management, shopping assistance, order management, sales execution, and service coordination while using live operational business data. The goal is to ensure AI-generated customer experiences remain aligned with actual business capabilities and inventory conditions.
SAP also highlighted partnerships with companies including Google, Amazon, Anthropic, and Adyen to expand AI-driven customer engagement across commerce, search, payments, and digital service channels. The company is adopting open AI commerce standards and integrating AI systems with real-time pricing, fulfillment, and payment infrastructure to support increasingly autonomous customer interactions.
The announcement reflects a broader industry shift toward “agentic AI” in customer experience, where AI systems are expected to proactively manage customer journeys rather than simply respond to requests. However, experts and online discussions continue warning that faster automation does not automatically improve customer satisfaction if businesses fail to solve underlying operational and service issues. Analysts say future success in customer experience will depend on balancing automation speed with reliability, trust, governance, and human oversight.
