According to Security Systems News, the company's new generative AI capability, Aurora Flow, analyzes sequences of video rather than individual frames, allowing it to interpret context and distinguish between similar-looking situations that require very different responses. For example, the system can tell the difference between playful horseplay and an actual fight or mugging—something traditional frame-based video analytics often struggles to do.
Aurora Flow represents a shift from conventional video analytics to video understanding. Instead of generating alerts based solely on object detection or motion, the AI evaluates how events unfold across several seconds of footage before deciding whether an incident requires attention. This contextual reasoning significantly reduces false alarms while improving the detection of complex behaviors such as theft, equipment tampering, unsafe climbing, dangerous driving, and aggressive behavior. The model is designed to run fully on-premises, including in air-gapped environments, making it suitable for organizations with strict security and data sovereignty requirements.
The company also reports substantial operational benefits. In one shopping mall deployment, approximately 4,000 video events generated over three days were first reduced to about 100 incidents using traditional filtering methods, and then further narrowed to just eight actionable events with Aurora Flow. By integrating generative AI directly into the alert decision-making process, Eluviant aims to reduce alert fatigue while helping security teams focus on the incidents that genuinely require human intervention. The platform integrates with existing video management systems such as Genetec and Milestone, allowing organizations to enhance their current camera infrastructure without replacing existing hardware.
Looking ahead, Eluviant argues that generative AI will redefine enterprise video intelligence by transforming surveillance from passive monitoring into intelligent situational awareness. Rather than replacing security professionals, the technology is intended to automate routine monitoring while enabling operators to spend more time assessing incidents and making informed decisions.
