The United Arab Emirates has unveiled an ambitious strategy to integrate “agentic AI” across 50% of its government operations within the next two years, making it one of the boldest national AI initiatives in the world. The plan aims to transform how public services operate by allowing AI systems to analyze information, make decisions, and complete tasks with minimal human involvement.
Unlike traditional AI tools that simply assist employees, agentic AI is designed to independently manage workflows and respond to requests in real time. UAE officials believe this shift will improve efficiency, reduce bureaucracy, accelerate decision-making, and deliver faster services for citizens and businesses. The government has also stated that ministries and federal agencies will be evaluated based on how effectively they adopt and implement AI systems.
A major part of the initiative focuses on workforce transformation. The UAE plans to train all federal employees in AI-related skills so they can work alongside intelligent systems rather than be replaced by them. Officials say the country is trying to create a model where automation supports workers and improves productivity instead of causing large-scale job losses.
The move reflects the UAE’s broader goal of becoming a global technology leader.
