India’s AI infrastructure ambitions received a major boost as Adani Enterprises and Jabil, one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturing companies, announced plans to create a vertically integrated AI and data center infrastructure manufacturing platform in India. The partnership aims to produce the hardware that powers modern AI data centers, including high-density AI racks, servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and advanced cooling technologies.
The alliance combines Jabil’s decades of expertise in advanced manufacturing and supply-chain management with Adani’s extensive infrastructure network, logistics capabilities, renewable energy assets, and rapidly expanding data center business. Together, the companies hope to address the growing demand for AI-ready infrastructure from hyperscale cloud providers, colocation operators, and enterprise customers both in India and internationally.
A key objective of the venture is to transform India from primarily a consumer of AI hardware into a significant manufacturing and export hub. The companies plan to establish multi-gigawatt production capacity for next-generation AI infrastructure, including liquid-cooled AI systems and supporting power and thermal management equipment. The initiative targets a global market opportunity estimated to exceed $3 trillion over the next seven years as investment in AI computing accelerates worldwide.
The announcement aligns with Adani Group’s broader strategy to invest heavily in AI and digital infrastructure. Earlier this year, the group committed $100 billion toward renewable-powered, AI-ready data centers by 2035, positioning itself as a major player in India’s emerging AI ecosystem. The Jabil partnership strengthens that vision by adding domestic manufacturing capabilities for critical AI hardware, helping reduce dependence on imports while supporting the government’s “Make in India” initiative.
Beyond its commercial significance, the partnership reflects a broader shift in the global AI race. As countries compete to secure computing capacity and AI supply chains, manufacturing the physical infrastructure behind AI is becoming as strategically important as developing AI software itself. By building a local ecosystem for AI hardware production, India is seeking to establish a stronger position in the global AI economy and attract future investments from technology companies expanding their AI operations.
