Delhi Government Setting Up 75 AI-Enabled CM Shree Schools

The Delhi government is embarking on an ambitious project to set up 75 AI-enabled "CM Shree" schools, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as artificial intelligence labs, language labs, digital attendance systems, science laboratories, and interactive panels. The aim is to provide world-class education and equal opportunities to all students, whether in government or private schools. According to Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood, the new schools will enable government schools to compete with private ones within the next two to three years.

The CM Shree schools will boast AI-enabled libraries with smart classrooms equipped with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) tools, as well as robotics laboratories to foster interest in STEM fields among students. The schools will also feature smart classrooms with digital attendance systems and interactive panels. Moreover, the campuses will be designed to be sustainable, zero-waste, and solar-powered.

The Delhi government has allocated ₹100 crore for setting up these schools, which are modeled after the central government's PM Shri schools. The schools will follow the National Education Policy 2020 and implement the National Curriculum Framework 2023. Admissions for classes 6-8 have begun, with a common admission test scheduled for August 30. This initiative is expected to revolutionize education in Delhi and provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the 21st century.
