Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has emphasized the importance of integrating digitalization and artificial intelligence into India's education system. Speaking at the 65th foundation day celebration of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in New Delhi, Pradhan highlighted the need for this integration to advance the quality of education and curriculum development across the nation.
The government has already launched several initiatives to promote digital learning, including the PM eVidya mobile application and DIKSHA 2.0, a digital infrastructure for knowledge sharing and learning. Pradhan's vision aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which aims to promote digital literacy and innovation in education.
To achieve this goal, the government is focusing on mass AI literacy, establishing Centres of Excellence in AI, and developing AI tools in Indian languages to make education accessible to all. The government has also collaborated with tech companies like IBM and Adobe to develop curriculum for emerging technologies, provide training and certification for students and teachers, and promote creative expression using digital tools.
By integrating AI and digitalization into the education system, India aims to enhance learning outcomes, boost employability, and promote inclusive education. This initiative will equip students with future-ready skills, foster creativity, and digital skills in classrooms, and reach all corners of the country. The government's efforts will help create a more robust and inclusive education system, preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century.
