The European Union is making a significant investment in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital skills, with a whopping €1.3 billion allocated for these initiatives. This funding is part of the Digital Europe Programme, which aims to further the EU's digital transformation goals, as outlined in the 2030 Digital Compass and the Path to the Digital Decade policy programme.
The investment will focus on enhancing the deployment and uptake of AI by businesses and public administration, as well as strengthening cybersecurity to protect against cyber threats. Additionally, the funding will support the development of digital skills needed for the workforce of the future.
The funding will be made available through a series of calls, with the first ones expected to be released in April 2025. Businesses, public administrations, and other entities from EU Member States, EFTA/EEA countries, and countries associated with the Digital Europe Programme will be eligible to apply.
