For the first time in history, a mostly AI-generated commercial is set to air at the 2026 Super Bowl (Super Bowl LX) — a massive milestone for generative advertising. The vodka brand Svedka created a 30-second spot produced almost entirely with AI tools, marking a shift from previous years when ads merely promoted AI to now being created by it.
The ad, titled “Shake Your Bots Off,” features two robot characters — Svedka’s classic Fembot and a new companion named BroBot — dancing at a lively club scene while enjoying vodka products. It was developed by a 23-year-old creator from Nashville, who used AI prompting to generate much of the footage and visuals that appear in the final commercial.
Svedka isn’t positioning the use of AI primarily as a cost-cutting tactic, but as a way to ignite conversation about the role of technology and creativity in advertising. The company’s chief marketing officer said the campaign is intended to be cutting-edge and generate buzz during one of the most-watched television events of the year, even as audiences and critics debate the creative value of AI content.
The inclusion of this ad at the Super Bowl — traditionally the pinnacle of commercial marketing — underscores how generative AI is moving from novelty to mainstream advertising tool, setting a precedent that many industry observers expect will lead to more AI-driven creative work in future high-profile media buys.
