The Gujarat government has launched a comprehensive Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiative, approving the Action Plan for Implementation of Artificial Intelligence 2025-2030. A key component of the plan is the establishment of a secure, interoperable, and scalable data ecosystem that complies with governance and privacy standards. The AI and Deep Tech Mission will also oversee pilot programs, establish implementation benchmarks, and ensure accountability in execution.¹
Gujarat has already made significant strides in AI adoption, with the inauguration of the Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence at GIFT City in January 2025. This center, developed in partnership with Microsoft, will use key technologies such as machine learning, cognitive services, and chatbot services to implement successful pilot projects and offer various training programs. The center aims to bridge the gap between startups and industry, providing crucial support to government and business sectors by offering timely, effective citizen services and promoting grassroots innovation.²
The Gujarat government's partnership with IBM to establish an AI hub in GIFT City will provide financial institutions with access to a comprehensive suite of AI resources, including AI sandbox, proof of concept assistance, AI literacy programs, and digital assistant solutions. This collaboration is expected to drive digital transformation across the financial sector and position Gujarat as a leader in AI-driven innovation.³
