Speaking at the launch of Niti Aayog's report "AI for Viksit Bharat: The Opportunity for Accelerated Economic Growth," Chandrasekaran emphasized the need for collaboration between the government, industry, and society to leverage AI effectively.
Chandrasekaran advocates using AI to skill youth and create employment opportunities, addressing fundamental issues like healthcare and education. He believes AI can deliver economic growth and prosperity by increasing productivity and efficiency across sectors. Fully integrated AI solutions are necessary to drive growth and prosperity in sectors like financial services, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare.
The government should enable small and medium enterprises to take full advantage of AI to deliver value, jobs, and economic growth. The industry should work closely with the government in policy formulation, take full ownership, and demonstrate execution.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also highlighted the transformative potential of AI, stating that it will fundamentally change every aspect of life. India needs to be among the frontrunners in developing and adopting AI technologies. AI can help solve basic issues like healthcare and education, creating huge empowerment opportunities and reducing inequality.
