Israel has launched a NIS 44 million (approximately $13.2 million) initiative to develop high-quality databases and boost artificial intelligence research and innovation across key sectors. The program, led by the Innovation Authority, Ministry of Economy and Industry, and Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, aims to create accessible data infrastructure in areas such as agrotech, health, climate, and security.
The initiative is designed to support Israel's national AI plan, focusing on enabling startups and researchers to develop advanced technologies using unified, up-to-date datasets. By creating a robust data infrastructure, the program will facilitate the development of groundbreaking solutions in various fields.
Dror Bin, CEO of the Innovation Authority, emphasized that "data is the raw material for training artificial intelligence models that create groundbreaking solutions in many fields." The program will also target peripheral communities to foster growth and innovation nationwide.
The investment in AI data infrastructure is expected to drive innovation and economic growth in Israel, positioning the country as a leader in AI research and development. By leveraging AI technologies, Israel can address complex challenges and create new opportunities for businesses, researchers, and entrepreneurs.
