At the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, major global technology companies and Indian corporations unveiled massive investment commitments aimed at building out artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, computing capacity, and ecosystem partnerships across India. These pledges — announced alongside world leaders and policymakers — reflect both commercial confidence in India’s tech market and strategic interest in expanding AI capabilities across the Global South.
Microsoft confirmed plans to invest up to $50 billion by 2030 to expand cloud and AI infrastructure that supports advanced computing and sovereign cloud services, building on tens of billions already pledged and spent in recent years. These investments include expanding Azure facilities, training AI talent, and ensuring secure data governance locally, helping India scale its digital economy.
Other major firms also made high-profile commitments. Google announced plans for a multi-billion-dollar AI hub and subsea connectivity initiatives connecting India to global networks, while Amazon and other tech players continued long-term investments aimed at expanding AI-ready infrastructure, data centres, and logistics technologies. Indian enterprises such as Reliance Industries, Jio, Adani Group, and Tata Group also committed tens of billions toward gigawatt-scale data centres and AI-ready facilities to support the country’s tech ecosystem.
These pledges — part of a broader push to attract hundreds of billions in AI infrastructure investment over the coming decade — are expected to accelerate India’s emergence as a major global AI hub. They support not only compute and physical infrastructure but also talent development, regional partnerships, and cross-sector AI adoption, positioning the country at the centre of future innovation and responsible technology deployment.
