Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, has announced that the company is entering a new phase of growth powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and deep technology. This strategic shift marks a significant leap for Reliance, following its successes in telecom and energy. Ambani emphasized that Reliance will focus on downstream AI applications that align with national needs, avoiding high-risk areas like GPU development.
The company has invested over ₹11,000 crore in research and development over four years, with a dedicated team of over 1,000 scientists working on pioneering innovations. Reliance has filed over 2,555 patents, mainly in bio-energy, solar, green energy, and high-value chemicals, with a strong presence in 5G and 6G technologies.
Ambani expressed his intention to expand Reliance's presence globally, citing the success of cost-effective e-commerce platforms like Temu. He also hinted at a potential leadership transition, emphasizing shared responsibility and the readiness of the next generation to take over.
Ambani outlined a future vision where Reliance becomes a deep-tech and advanced manufacturing powerhouse, driving large-scale societal impact and creating wealth for the nation. He emphasized the importance of harnessing technologies of the future and building businesses that can last beyond his tenure.
