Nvidia’s co-founder and CEO Jensen Huang will not attend the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, the company confirmed, citing “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for his last-minute cancellation.
Huang had been slated to be one of the headline speakers and a key attraction of the five-day event — which is being inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expected to draw top technology leaders from around the world. His absence is notable because Nvidia is one of the most influential companies in the AI hardware ecosystem, known for its GPUs that power many large AI models.
Despite Huang’s decision not to travel to India, Nvidia emphasised its continued commitment to the summit and to India’s growing AI and semiconductor landscape. A senior delegation, led by Executive Vice President Jay Puri, will represent the company at the event and engage with researchers, startups, and partners building AI infrastructure locally.
The summit itself is still expected to feature a strong line-up of global tech leadership, including executives such as Sundar Pichai of Google and Sam Altman of OpenAI — underscoring India’s expanding role as a hub in international AI dialogue even without Nvidia’s CEO in attendance.
