NVIDIA is playing a key role in Germany's bid to lead Europe in the AI manufacturing race by building the continent's first industrial AI cloud. This project, a collaboration between NVIDIA and Deutsche Telekom, aims to give European industrial players the computational power to revolutionize manufacturing, from design to robotics. The initiative will deploy 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs across various high-performance systems, making it Germany's largest AI deployment ever.
The AI cloud, dubbed the "AI Factory," will enable European companies to advance simulation-first, AI-driven manufacturing. This will allow them to develop and implement intelligent machines and systems that can simulate, automate, and optimize production processes. Companies like NEURA Robotics will utilize the computational power to develop cognitive robotics, enabling robots to learn from each other and improve their skills.
One of the key goals of the project is to promote European technological sovereignty by reducing dependence on external AI technology. By providing access to AI infrastructure for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as academic and research institutions, the project aims to drive innovation and competitiveness in the region.
The project is seen as a stepping stone towards Europe's AI gigafactory, a planned 100,000 GPU-powered initiative backed by the EU and Germany, scheduled to come online by 2027. With this initiative, Germany and Europe are positioning themselves to take a leading role in the global AI landscape, driving industrial transformation and competitiveness.
By investing in AI infrastructure and promoting innovation, Germany and Europe can unlock new opportunities for growth and development, and establish themselves as major players in the AI industry.
