NVIDIA is set to manufacture its AI chips and supercomputers entirely in the United States, marking a significant shift in its production strategy. The company has partnered with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to produce its Blackwell chips in Phoenix, Arizona.
Additionally, NVIDIA is building supercomputer manufacturing plants in Texas, specifically with Foxconn in Houston and Wistron in Dallas. Mass production at both Texas plants is expected to ramp up in the next 12-15 months.
NVIDIA plans to produce up to $500 billion worth of AI infrastructure in the US over the next four years. This move is expected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and drive trillions of dollars in economic security over the coming decades.
The company will utilize its advanced AI, robotics, and digital twin technologies to design and operate the facilities. NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, emphasizes the significance of this move, stating, "The engines of the world’s AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time."
This development positions the US as a major hub for AI hardware and underscores NVIDIA's commitment to American manufacturing. By producing AI chips and supercomputers in the US, NVIDIA aims to strengthen its supply chain, boost resiliency, and better meet growing demand for AI technology
