The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) of the Central Tibetan Administration has officially begun its annual general meeting along with a comprehensive staff training program at Thumi Hall, Administrative Training and Welfare Society (ATWS), Dharamshala. The program is scheduled from 6 April to 20 April 2026 and is aimed at strengthening the professional capabilities of auditing staff through training in both financial and modern technological practices.
A major highlight of the training is its broad curriculum, which includes Artificial Intelligence (AI), Tally, Income Tax and GST, FCRA compliance, and construction audit. Acting Secretary Thinley Chomphel emphasized that the inclusion of AI topics reflects the office’s proactive approach toward technological integration. This indicates a growing recognition of how AI can improve administrative efficiency and modernize audit workflows.
During the inauguration, Auditor General Tashi Topgyal encouraged staff members to actively adopt AI tools in their day-to-day auditing work. He stressed that the department has made a significant investment of time and resources into this training and urged participants to make full use of the opportunity. The focus on AI-driven efficiency and innovation suggests that the OAG is preparing its workforce for the evolving demands of digital governance and financial oversight.
Overall, this initiative reflects a broader trend of government and administrative bodies embracing emerging technologies to improve performance and accountability. By combining traditional audit training with AI and compliance modules, the program aims to create a more skilled and future-ready auditing team capable of handling modern financial and operational challenges.
