Siemens CEO Roland Busch believes Germany has a vast amount of industrial data that can be leveraged to drive artificial intelligence innovation. Speaking in a Bloomberg TV interview, Busch emphasized the importance of utilizing this data to make industrial producers' manufacturing systems more efficient. Germany's industrialized economy generates massive amounts of data from buildings, manufacturing sites, and engineering processes, providing a vital resource for AI advancements.
Siemens is already integrating AI into its manufacturing systems to enhance efficiency and has partnered with Nvidia Corp for its AI applications. The company has also acquired software makers Altair Engineering Inc and Dotmatics to boost its AI capabilities. According to Busch, this strategic move will help Germany position itself at the forefront of the AI revolution.
However, Busch stressed that Europe needs to make significant changes to its regulatory structure to compete with US software companies. Over 60 leading German companies are working together to bring new projects worth at least €100 billion to spark growth in Europe's largest economy.
Germany is actively promoting AI adoption through initiatives like the 'AI Strategy' and allocating significant funding for AI research and development. The country is also fostering AI innovation through initiatives like Manufacturing-X, aimed at creating a cross-sector digital ecosystem for industrial data exchange.
