Singapore Foodtech Firm to Launch Pilot of AI-Powered Kitchens

Singapore's foodtech firm, Aikit, is set to launch a six-month pilot program for its AI-powered autonomous kitchen, ChefGenie, at Punggol Digital District on September 9, 2025. The initiative aims to address manpower shortages and rising costs in the food and beverage industry by introducing automated kitchens as a manpower-lean model for expansion.

ChefGenie uses proprietary smart kitchen technology to replicate complex cooking techniques with precision, preparing meals within minutes. The system automates backend processes such as inventory tracking, ingredient replenishment, demand forecasting, and menu adjustments. This scalable solution enables F&B operators to expand their businesses while reducing reliance on manpower.

The pilot program will feature eight local F&B brands, including Warong Pak Sapari, Springleaf Prata, Eat Pizza, Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks, Takagi Ramen, Tuk Tuk Cha, The Hainan Story, and Instachef. To promote the launch, 4,000 meals will be sold at $1.99 each from September 9 to 14 at Punggol Coast Mall.

Supported by Enterprise Singapore, the pilot program aims to test autonomous kitchens as a viable solution for the F&B industry's manpower challenges. If successful, Aikit plans to expand ChefGenie across Singapore and position it as a model for the future of food and technology integration. This innovative approach has the potential to transform the F&B industry, enabling businesses to operate more efficiently and effectively.
