South Koreans are spending a significant amount of time engaging with AI services. In a remarkable surge, the total duration of generative AI application usage by South Korean users skyrocketed from 110 million minutes in December 2023 to a staggering 900 million minutes.
This impressive growth indicates a rapidly increasing adoption of AI-powered services in South Korea. The government is also investing heavily in AI integration, with plans to spend $527 million to incorporate AI into various aspects of daily life, including healthcare, education, and public services.
The initiatives include developing AI-powered software for diagnosing rare diseases, creating AI-based digital medical devices for early prediction and management of autism, and leveraging AI in public services, such as disaster response and healthcare for vulnerable populations.
