Thailand’s Exports Grow 7.1% in November, Driven by Electronics and AI Demand

Thailand’s export economy continued its momentum in November 2025, with overseas shipments rising 7.1% year‑on‑year to approximately $27.45 billion, extending export growth for the 17th consecutive month. A significant driver of this expansion has been sustained demand for electronics and AI‑linked products, reflecting how global technology cycles are lifting manufactured goods shipments from Thailand. Industrial exports overall, especially items like computers, phones, and related components, have shown particularly strong performance as AI and modern tech demand supports the electronics sector.

Government officials highlighted that the continued upswing in the computer and related electronics cycle, along with the expansion of modern technologies such as AI, has played a key role in maintaining export growth well above many other sectors. Excluding oil products, gold, and defence items, export growth in November was even more robust, underscoring the strength of Thailand’s industrial and tech‑driven export base. These patterns suggest that Thailand is benefiting from broader global investment in technology infrastructure, data centres, and AI‑ready hardware.

However, the trade picture is nuanced. While the electronics and tech segments are performing strongly, Thailand continued to register a trade deficit due to even faster import growth, with overall imports rising by nearly twice the pace of exports in November. Some traditional export categories like agriculture faced ongoing headwinds, partly due to external factors like a strong Thai baht and competitive pressures in global commodity markets.

Looking ahead, Thai authorities suggest that full‑year export growth for 2025 could reach around 11.6–12.1% if momentum holds through December. Still, forecasts for 2026 point to a potential slowdown in global demand and geopolitical uncertainties that could temper export growth. Nonetheless, the November figures underline how electronics and AI‑related products are anchoring Thailand’s export performance in an increasingly tech‑driven global trade environment.
