US and India Partner to Promote Reciprocal Investments in AI Technology

The United States and India are strengthening their partnership in artificial intelligence (AI) by promoting reciprocal investments in AI technology. This collaboration aims to develop a government-to-government framework that will facilitate joint investments and align protections around AI technology diffusion.

The partnership will also focus on strengthening cooperation around national security applications of AI and promoting safe, secure, and trustworthy development of AI. Additionally, the two countries will work together to develop shared principles for AI governance, norms, and innovation.

The US-India Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) is a key component of this partnership, emphasizing advancements in AI, semiconductors, and quantum computing. The initiative serves as a blueprint for global AI cooperation and encourages the development of multilateral frameworks for AI governance.

This collaboration has the potential to drive significant economic growth and innovation in both countries, while also promoting responsible AI development and use.
