The US Army has awarded a five-year contract worth up to $98.9 million to TurbineOne, a San Francisco-based startup, to develop and demonstrate its Frontline Perception System (FPS). This AI-powered system is designed for edge target recognition, counter-UAS, and collaborative autonomy capabilities.
TurbineOne's FPS delivers real-time decision-making support to warfighters by leveraging multiple sensor feeds in degraded communications environments. The system is trusted across every department in the US Department of Defense and deployed globally. It can build, retrain, and deploy custom machine learning models at the edge without coding, making it a valuable tool for military operations.
The contract is part of the Army's Intelligence Enterprise modernization efforts, aiming to accelerate intelligence and targeting cycles. TurbineOne's successful completion of a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract and a Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) "success memo" for prototype performance were key factors in the Army's decision to award this contract.
